Letters, 1771-1797.

In the first letter, Volpato deems a painting of a tree attributed to Salvatore Rosa a fraud on the basis of the unsteady strokes. He has also viewed a painting of Mary Magdalen of the same greatness as the one painted by Correggio and exhibited in Dresden. He goes on to comment briefly on Flemish paintings, primarily those by a teacher of Rubens, and the exorbitant prices being charged for them. The second letter relates to payment to the participants in a religious festival, including Passionists and standard-bearers.
